By the way, I thought it might be useful to put up a new page dedicated to tracking my progress across all of my work, past, present, and future. So I’ve introduced the “Projects” page. If ever you’re wondering 1) what the hell is J.D. Robinson working on? And 2) What is the purpose of my own life? Then that’s your page. Be sure to bookmark it, or just make it your home page.
But, since I’m here, here’s an update since my last progress report.
The sharp-eyed will see that The Last Shadow now has a cover, by the talented Bastien Lecouffe Deharme. I’m quite happy with the final result, and he was a joy to work with. As for its release, I’m only waiting to coordinate that with the other two titles soon to be launched. I wasn’t sure that just dribbling them out would be as interesting as hitting the world with a one-two-three punch. And since no one’s looking anyway, I’m free to follow my whims. Were there a great public demand, that might be another story.
I’ve commissioned a cover for On the Loop from a well-known and talented artist. I look forward to sharing more info about that very soon.
And The Broken Helix is done! As in, the story is set, and all I need is a cover. But I haven’t reached out to an artist yet, because I like to have my own concept art down before I waste their time with my shenanigans.
The three titles above are the ones I’m definitely releasing this year. But there’s just one more thing…
I’ve just finished the first draft of a new title, tentatively titled Songs from the Void. I am now going through the edit process with that one, and will then send it to an editor. If that round-trip goes smoothly, I may be able to release that one this year as well.
As for 2021? That’s book #6 which is already in its earliest planning stages.
